U22 LADY SENS WIN SILVER AT PROVINCIALS

The U22 Lady Senators returned home with silver medals from last weekend's Provincial Championships! In pool play, the team started out with a 3-2 win over 4th seeded Durham West Lightning. A 5-0 win over London and a 7-2 win over the 67's earned the  Lady Sens a bye to the Semi-Finals on Saturday. Against the #2 seed Stoney Creek, the Lady Sens had a 2-0 lead in the second period but the Sabres came back to tie it early in the third. Both teams battled back and forth but Francesca Barresi scored the game winner with 2:00 left on the clock. The Lady Sens held on to the lead and secured a spot in the gold medal game on Sunday against the #1 seed Etobicoke Dolphins. In front of a big crowd in the final game of the season, the Lady Sens scored the first goal of the game early in the second period. Etobicoke put the pressure on for the rest of the period and managed to get on the board with just over 3 minutes left in the second. Etobicoke scored 2 more goals in the first half of the third to take a 3-1 lead. But with 37 seconds left in the game, all-time OLS leading scorer Brooke Mulvihill lasered a power play goal over the Etobicoke goalie. With an extra attacker the Lady Sens had a couple of great scoring chances in the final moments of the game but Etobicoke was able to hang on for the gold.

The U18 Lady Senators finished with a 0-2-1 record in pool play. Both of the Lady Sens losses were by a single goal, including a 2-1 loss to the eventual silver medal winners, Stratford Aces.

The U15 Lady Senators won their pool to advance to the quarter finals where they fell the eventual bronze medal winners, Stoney Creek, 3-0.
